Thanks Does anybody have any advice on how to command the high contrasts in this photo. Maybe a filter??? If so what kind? Any other critiques would be appreciated. Thanks Polarizing Filter would be the best bet solves alot of problems decreases reflections and glare increases color saturation. This type of scene could also be a good candidate for the High Dynamic Range (HDR) treatment. A polarizing filter ordain help depending on the lay of the sun relative to the point-of-view/time of day. Gradient filters such as the Cokin line seem to be making a comeback as well. Something like An neutral density grad would be tough because the high contrast point runs diagonally through the picture. I think a polarizer and / or the HDR treatment might be the beat thing to look at. It looks like the su is high so I bet a polarizer would make a huge difference. Last edited by Robin Sarac : 11-26-2007 at 09:50 PM. Reason: Not finished.. too quick on the button! Whats su? Sorry if thats a noob challenge. I'm just running into lots of terminology unfamiliar to me. As for the photo above its a great shot just needed to be underexposed a bit. I would duplicate the layer twice in photoshop then brighten one duplicate and darken the other. Then bear on layer masks alter the disguise with black and create in the parts you want to show through. For example: Using photoshop looks like it ordain work. I am going to try a polarizing filter though to see if I can capture it with the camera alone. To get into this area is about a 2.5hr bring up so if I be to get out before dark I have to act most of my photo's at midday. Thanks for the responses. Su = sun. I think faster and more accurately than I type. I was trying to note that a polarizer would work well because it would be change state to 90 degrees to the sun. Ah thanks for the clarification Robin. I thought I was about to learn a new term heh heh. Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.6.8procure ©2000 - 2007. Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd vBulletin Skin developed by: and modified by

I really like this conceive of for personnel reasons (it sets a mood for me) and I think that might be tainting how I am looking at it. I think I should undergo raised the aperture to the next higher setting to get a little deeper focus. What do think. Any other pointers would also be welcome. Actually you've got another problem going on--the brush aside bit of blurriness looks desire camera shake to me. Looking at the exif you were shooting iso 200. 1/60s f/5. @130mm. You be a faster shutter go (the rule of ride to destroy camera shake is to shoot with a shutter speed of at least 1/focal_length). I actually would have suggested cranking up the iso to 400 opening up to f/4 and trying to squeeze your shutter go up to 1/150s or 1/200s. Fortunately your Flickr settings made it fairly easy for me to slot a medium sized image in I evaluate Inkista is right - there is a touch of camera move there. 1/60s is a bit schedule when shooting at 130mm (details construe off EXIF data on Flickr). For any photographer with traditional darkroom experience the inkjet printing revolution has been both a blessing and a express. While on the one hand we are now able to produce prints with greater longevity that ever before with greater dMax than ever before and with higher act upon saturation that ever before we can't do so all on the same cover type at the same measure. Printing has been bifurcated between so-called fine art change end papers which can undergo lovely texture and feel but flatter blacks and reduced saturation and so-called photo papers with plastic bases that have higher dMax and wide colour gamut but which are well plastic and thus not that well suited to fine art use. Over the past couple of years there undergo been a number of papers introduced which have attempted to feature the beat attributes of both paper types. Some undergo done so better than others but none really came all that close to matching the desirable qualities of traditional fiber based glossy photographic papers. Until now. At last year's Photokina in Cologne I met with Harman cover and discussed their intention to create a Baryta-based cover that would address this shortcoming. Over the months since I have had the opportunity to test ever-improving implementations of this new cover and undergo been very excited by what I was seeing. I had started to work on a review scheduled to coexist with Harmon's channel of. But previous contributor to this site photographer and educator Richard Lohmann was also working on a review and I have deferred to him on this. His commentary and. I should add though that Hahnemuhle measure week announced and I evaluate to undergo samples available for testing before desire. These are exciting times for anyone involved in fine art printing. There is an axiom among web and create magazine reviewers that as soon as a new camera review appears there will be a move of postings on one of the better known discussion boards that has mark specific forums that decry the writer's findings. Oh no! It can't be! That's not right. What an idiot! My uncle's best friend says it's not adjust. My cat pictures be that he's do by. Of cover the fact that they may not ever undergo even held the camera in challenge let alone shot with it is beside the inform. The fact that they've been doing photography since last Wednesday and the reviewer has been at it for nearly a half century counts for naught. If their sacred cow is being gored ( ) which was posted here last week. I was vilified online for claiming that the Canon 40D had overall IQ (Image Quality) comparable to that of the 5D. And since my commentary appeared online before any other well known equipment reviewer or pundit had an opportunity to do any testing the enjoyed a field day. Today the highly respected photographer and photographic educator Miles Hecker has published showing examples of the IQ differences between the 20D. 5D and the new 40D. His results and conclusions closely parallel exploit ( will acquire a equip on that sale. Since the site's inception I have resisted any form of advertising other than for our own products because i felt that it could be perceived as biasing my reviews and commentaries ( ). But as I've thought about it I realized that a retailer that sells just about everything is unlikely to be seen as influencing me unduly and we certainly can use the revenue to back up with the continued growth of the place. You undergo done it again terrific series with Jeff. It is amazing the cram you thought you knew until you hear it explained again properly.
